Archiving and Data Distribution Policy
This Archiving and Data Distribution Policy outlines the procedures for preserving and providing access to all published content of the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Medicine and Applied Sciences (IJIMAS). The policy ensures the long-term accessibility, integrity, and usability of articles and materials for research, education, and public benefit.
Scope
This policy applies to all articles, data, and materials published in IJIMAS, including:
- Final published versions of articles
- Accepted versions after peer review
- Submitted manuscript versions
- Metadata associated with articles
Archiving Process
1. Identification of Archiving Candidates
All published and accepted articles, supplementary materials, and metadata are identified for inclusion in the journal's archive.
2. Archiving Format
Materials are archived in standard, durable formats such as PDF, XML, and ZIP for ease of access and long-term preservation.
3. Metadata Creation
Each article includes comprehensive metadata for indexing, retrieval, and citation. Metadata includes:
- Article title
- Author(s) with ORCID IDs
- DOI (Digital Object Identifier)
- Keywords
- Abstract
4. Archiving Storage
Archived materials are securely stored using the following systems:
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Ensures permanent and decentralized storage of digital content through multiple copies in participating libraries.
- CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): Provides an additional layer of archiving for global open access repositories.
- Publisher's Repository: Full-text articles and materials are hosted on the official IJIMAS website (https://www.ijimas.com) for unrestricted access.
5. Open Access Distribution
All articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license, enabling non-commercial use with proper attribution while prohibiting derivatives.
6. Permanent Identifiers
Each article is assigned a unique DOI, ensuring persistent and reliable citation and retrieval.
7. Regular Archiving Review
The editorial team conducts periodic reviews to ensure archived materials remain accessible, up-to-date, and secure.
Archiving Locations and Accessibility
- Institutional Repositories: Authors are permitted to deposit their articles in institutional repositories (e.g., DSpace, AVESIS) or subject-based archives with proper citation and DOI linkage.
- Author's Personal Website: Authors can share all versions (submitted, accepted, and published) on their personal or institutional websites without embargo.
- Public Subject-Based Archives: Articles can be self-archived in public archives for academic sharing.
Retention and Revision of Archived Materials
Archived materials are retained indefinitely to support the dissemination and historical preservation of research. This policy is subject to periodic review to reflect advancements in archiving technologies and best practices.
